Summer Singles League

A singles league run through the summer and into the autumn. Everybody started at NTRP 2.5; the rating on each player page is what their own results have made of it since.

Where you play is yours to arrange. There is no fixed court and no fixed hour: you and your opponent agree between yourselves where and when, play, and put the score in. Most of it has been at the academy's own courts in Dania Beach, but any court both of you can get to counts.

How the league runs

Each round gives you 28 days to play your match — you and your opponent agree the time and court between you (contact details open on the match page). A match not played by its play-by date: whoever offered times to play takes the match. If neither side did, it counts for neither. We send both of you a reminder before the date.

Rules

• Format. Two sets; if it stands at one set each, a ten-point match tiebreak settles it.
• Arranging a match. You and your opponent agree the court, the day and the time between you. Nothing is assigned and nothing is booked for you.
• The score. Either player enters it afterwards; the other confirms. Silence for a day confirms it. A rating moves only once the result is settled.
• Rating. Everybody begins at NTRP 2.5. What you do to it depends on who you beat and how comfortably — beating somebody well above you is worth far more than beating somebody below you.
• Entry. $30 for the season, per player.
• Closes. 1 October 2026 — a match played after that does not count.

Who can enter

This event is open to every level. Age 13+; 32 players maximum, then a waiting list.
