What children learn
Social Tennis takes a child from first rallies to real games. Classes work on the strokes — forehand, backhand, volley and serve — then put them into play: rallying with a partner, serving to start a point, and keeping score. Orange and green balls are a step slower than a standard ball, so children rally sooner and longer.
Children who want more can add Conditioning (Tuesday and Thursday, 5 PM at Frost Park) with a "+ Conditioning" plan. When the coach sees a player is ready for match play, they move to the 6 PM Advanced Competition group.

Frequently asked questions
My child has never played. Is Social Tennis the right group?+
Yes. Social Tennis (5 PM) is for beginners and recreational players aged 7 to 13. The first class is free, so you can see the fit first.
What is the difference between Social Tennis and Advanced Competition?+
Social Tennis (5 PM) teaches the game and plays it for fun. Advanced Competition (6 PM) is match play for children who already rally well; the coach decides the placement.
How many days a week should my child play?+
One class a week is enough to start. Plans go up to unlimited (one class a day), and the days can change from week to week.
What happens after age 13?+
From 14, players join our adult classes, grouped by level.
Do you accept Step Up For Students?+
Yes, for our children's group programs.
